My Philosophy

About

Hi, I'm Sophie — a [grade level] at [High School Name] in Brooklyn, NY, planning to pursue a career in nursing. My interest in healthcare grew from volunteering in a clinical setting, where I saw firsthand how attentive, steady care makes a difference for patients.

Outside of the classroom, I've spent the past three years competing on my school's tennis team, which taught me discipline, focus, and how to perform under pressure — qualities I bring into every part of my life, including my goal of becoming a nurse.

My Motivation

Why Nursing

My interest in nursing didn't come from a single moment — it grew out of time spent watching healthcare happen up close. Volunteering at [Urgent Care Facility Name], I saw how much of a difference calm, attentive care makes to someone who's scared, in pain, or just having a hard day. [Specific memory: describe one real moment — a patient interaction, something a nurse did that stuck with you, a task you performed that made you feel useful].

That experience showed me that nursing isn't just about medical knowledge — it's about presence, patience, and paying attention to the small things that make people feel taken care of. It's the reason I want to build a career around it.
